The Answers

The perpetual quest
For that bit of snow in your eyes…
The questions, overwhelming…
Felt like I was sinking in the sand,
The melting sand.
Sometimes I was the sand
That gets blown away
In the madness of the desert storm.

The fantasies of the sky become mine.
They seep in through my eyes
And into my brain.
A solitary painter,
Amid my golden fields of hope
Drenched me in jade…
And I was amid the meadows of solitude…

My silence had grown.
Into my soul this time,
Not marred by the shadows of hate anymore.
I feel like a goblet
Overflowing with that tenderness
Waning from the earth.
I was the fire
Now I seek water,
For that moaning drizzle
To be a tree and shade you through.

The novelty is strange
Sometimes overbearing,
Sometimes meek.
But I’m ready to let you go.
For I’m the river
That only bestows.
Or maybe just the water trapped in the hollow of a tree.
I don’t ask anything in return
For love…
Adieu…
I shall never follow,
But I shall be followed by the answers someday…

  1. Beautiful Pallavi.. The poem is very calm and initiates a quest in the reader :)

  2. when i read this poem, i felt a sort of one-ness with it.But on rereading it, i also felt that, may be,there's just too much colour on ur palette, when u could have easily managed to etch it with one or two.
